Charles Lindbergh's flight in 1926 from St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois, began the hallowed history of American Airlines. The airline—now nearing its centennial—has grown from a small-town operation carrying mail throughout the midwest to one of the most recognized names at 30,000 feet.
